On March 6 FTD will release a comprehensive On Stage : February, 1970 in the 7" Classic Album series including a CDs worth of unreleased material from the FTD vaults. The On Stage : February, 1970 album.will be a 2-Disc 7" digipack as usual with a 12-page booklet. In addition to the Original Album the set will include all RCA's recordings from three of the shows recorded.

Memphis Recording Service in association with JAT Productions will release the next Elvis Presley titled 'Such A Night in Pearl Harbor' in March 2012. It will contain a completely new re-mastered CD of Elvis' performance of the benefit concert recorded at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on March 25th 1961 to aid of the USS Arizona Memorial Fund. The quality is of this concert is far superior than anything of this ever released before and will now be considered, one of the best Elvis concert recordings up until that time. Elvis made television and entertainment history on this date with his Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite concert special. The show was performed at the Honolulu International Center Arena on January 14, 1973 at 12:30 AM Hawaiian time. The concert was beamed live via Globecam Satellite to Australia, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, South Vietnam and other countries, and was seen on a delayed basis in approximately thirty European countries. The first American airing was April 4, 1973 on NBC-TV.

FTD's treatment of Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas, released this month with the help of outtakes not being overdubbed in any way ... reveals a more intimate and sensitive side of the Christmas recordings that took place in Nashville during two nights in May, 1971. When released on the original album back in 1971, Felton Jarvis had just about used every trick in the book when it came to making overdubs on If I Get Home On Christmas Day, adding strings, horns and a lot of backing vocals, creating what I like to call a 'bombastic Elvis sound'. Listening to the alternate takes, especially the early ones, you can almost be fooled into thinking it's another song, it sounds so much more intimate.

Though indeed recorded just a few hours apart from one another, the shows captured on 'All Shook Up' and 'Live In Vegas' are quite different from one another and do not play like repeats of the same show. The biggest difference is tone. While Elvis seems unable to control his infectious laughter through much of 'All Shook Up' - including the fantastic 'Are You Laughing Tonight' - he is much more focused on 'Live In Vegas'.

The book by Pål Granlund is an impressive document of all the outfits Elvis performed in through his career from 1968 and onwards. The book is full of fantastic, previously unreleased, rare and classic photos, all linked together by text written by Tommy Edvardsen and Atle Larsen. The 2 CDs contain two great soundboard recorded concerts. This is a huge work, the weight is approx. 3 kg [6 Pounds for USA] and the size, 30.5cm [12"] x 25.4cm [12"] x 3.7cm [1.5"].

I would like to say the MRS / JAT Productions release of The Complete Louisiana Hayride Archives 1954-1956 CD is a dream come true but I can't as there was no anticipation something like this would ever be released. For years now we have had the basic el cheapo compilation of the basic tracks but now we have a full CD with a running time of over 75 minutes that gives a very good overview of Elvis in concert in the 1950s.
